As many of you have heard or noticed, Windows has begun pushing their next version of Windows, 10. One of the issues already popping up online is that this new version has people in the security field up in arms due to privacy concerns. Windows 10 seems to grab far too much of your data and sends it back to Microsoft and it's partners. Why do they need to know your contact list, your emails, your wireless router password and your browsing history just to name a few things they take? PLUS as with all new operating systems, there are always bugs and glitches for the first 6 months that get patched.

So at this time, not only do I NOT recommend upgrading to Windows 10 for the average user, personally here at the Pyramid Office I will not even allow any device onto our local office network that is running it, even if it's a customer's.


If your internet connection goes down, DO NOT push the reset buttons on your modem or router, be it DSL, Cable or Fiber Optic. (Matter of fact, NEVER PUSH THEM no matter what!) The moment you do that, you have blown out all the settings in those devices. Do the following...

1. Unplug the power to the modem and router if you have one. (if you are using switches turn those off to)
2. Wait 3 minutes to let them cool down and to clear out any cached memory. Then plug them back in and test your connection. Always check by trying to open various websites like google, yahoo or msn.
3. If it's still not coming up, call the office.

With storms, forest fires and the constant construction/infrastructure work going on in the area effecting power and noise on the lines, modems/routers can go into an "on hold" mode that restarting will clear.
We can also experience localized and even regional outages which can take the internet offline for as long as a day in some instances and in some rare cases, even longer.


Office Tech Support hours are switching over to it's summer schedule starting in June. Summer hours are Mon-Friday 9-6pm, Sat-Sun we will be closed.
As always, we will still be available for emergencies.

Due to numerous requests, Pyramid is now selling and installing streaming video devices. We are starting with APPLE TV and ROKU units that we will bring out, install and give hands on instruction in their use.

Apple TV is $129.95

Roku starts at $99.95 - $139.95 depending on model and features (call us for details)

We recommend at least a 3mb or faster connection speed for these devices as both will stream HD quality video

A flat screen HD TV is recommended with an HDMI input

Customers will need to have an HDMI cable or we can provide one for a nominal charge.

Is your ISP capping your internet usage?

At Pyramid Net, we have no bandwidth cap. We do not limit how much bandwidth you use a month unlike other ISPs in the area. If you aren't a Pyramid customer, then you may be in for a surprise on your bill.

What is a cap? It’s just like the old cell phone minute plan. You have a set limit of data you can download and upload a month. If you reach that limit, then you are charged extra when you go over.

This is especially bad for those that use the internet for media like Netflix and other streaming video or those that do large backups on a constant basis.
